Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider handles the query and its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be kept as needed to prepare and send a response. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view timestamps
- Device type and operating system
- Your device's IP address
- Browser type and version
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- A referring website, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We and our analytics services use them to understand traffic in aggregate, such as popular pages and points where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing and repairing technical faults
- Routing a query to the selected search partner
- Maintaining site operation and performance
- Measuring which content visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect user interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Wilcox County guidance identifies request routes through the sheriff, courts, Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Georgia Crime Information Center, and Georgia Sex Offender Registry. Public-document access is governed by the Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 through 50-18-77, while GCIC dissemination is separately controlled by O.C.G.A. § 35-3-34. No visitor information is assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention schedules, and sharing rules apply to information submitted through those tools. Review the provider's policy before entering a query because we do not control those practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Wilcox County offices, Georgia agencies, courts, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Read that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across websites for targeted ads. That tracking does not occur on systems we operate.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks serving ads on the site
How We Protect Your Data
Standard safeguards are used for data we collect. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If a minor's data has been provided, contact us so it can be deleted.
